Hand003 was inspired by a woman I once loved very much. She has dozens on dozens of self-inflicted, deep scars all along her arms and legs. Her wrists were especially damaged from suicide attempts, with huge knots of scars causing her great pain. When together I would massage these knots, bringing her the only relief she had felt in years. I started this project trying to replicate that beauty and I failed. Originally a friend/possible lover was to be the "model" for the casting but I was again betrayed so I used my own, horrible arm instead. Since I'm not correct I decided to go a different direction and ended up here.
